Fashion day for men ~ blue and white and high-rise pants

Rentboy the Musical opens tonight my darlings!!!! Click here to purchase your tickets if you haven't done so. Wish me luck!

1. I thought this blue and white check jacket was great. The floral shirt, polka dot tie and stuffed in pocket square make it a real dressed up look. This could be the center of your spring wardrobe.

2. Another blue and white look. Kind of denimy blue linen. Very good look. I can live without the sideburns though.

3. For evening if you are young enough. high rise black pants and a sweater with a big eagle on it. I like this look but you gotta be thin.

Dear David,
How does it feel to be 83 and singing and dancing in a new show?
~A fellow blogger

Dear Fellow Blogger,
I get up every morning thanking the good lord that I haven't fallen apart in the night. It's kind of strange to still be in good form. I really don't feel any different than I did at 38.

Handsomest Man in the World ~ Klaus Biesenbach

I am currently deep in rehearsals right now! We open the show "Rentboy the Musical" tomorrow! Click here to get your tickets if you haven't already done so.

____________________________

Handsomest Man in the World today. I'm offering you Mr. Klaus Biesenbach. He is the director of the film and media department at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. You can always tell a lot about a man by his mouth. They can lie with their eyes but their mouth tells you everything. Mr. Biesenbach has good lips. I try to avoid men who have no lips - they are not giving. He could lose that little scruff of beard and moustache though...

Dear David,
You open tomorrow in your show. Are you nervous?
~I.M. Withyou

Dear I.M.,
Thanks a million. No. I am not nervous. For me the theater is like a job. I just want to give the audience their money's worth. Someone once asked me if when I am in the wings waiting do I ever think the audience might not like me. I told my friend that was an idea that could never enter my head!

Michelle Obama and the Academy Awards

Dear David,
Do you think it was out of place for Michelle Obama to appear on the Academy Awards? I didn't.
~Glamour Lover

Dear G.L.,
I'm with you. I don't think the President's wife has to be a dowdy homebody or an all out politician. She can be a good-looking, fashionable woman with her own strong interests. Mrs. Obama's interests seem to lie with helping others which I think is very much in her favor.

What do you think of the latest scandal...

To remind you all, we open this Thursday at the Richmond Shepard theater in New York with the new show, "Rent Boy the Musical" Wish me luck! And buy your tickets here if you haven't already!

_________________________

Dear David,
What do you think of the latest scandal involving the Catholic church where the Cardinal head of the church in Scotland made "indecent proposals" to priests under his supervision? You have to wonder what these proposals were. Maybe you or I wouldn't think they were so indecent.
~Wotta Situation

Dear Wotta,
Exactly. The cardinal is quite a handsome man. I always wonder what prompts men to want to be a priest. For many I think in the past it was a way of not getting married and having a good explanation. I always try to make a point that our sexuality is paramount and we have to design a life for it. People with the problems of pedophilia and the like are the exception of course. Too many people think they can have a fulfilling life without being fulfilled sexually and romantically. It just isn't possible...

Fashion day for women ~ springtime is here!

Fashion directions today for women will be for Spring. We are done with winter.

1. I'm liking green. This dress is Rodarte which isn't inexpensive, but it's a nice look. the kind of T-shirty tip and skirt in similar but not the same print. You could put this look together. Think green. Think leaves. Look for a copy of the purse.

2. This big flaring skirt is super. If you wear a long dress, let it be flimsy and blow in the wind and think green. I don't think you need the hat.

3. Jil Sander is back with the simple look. The round-shouldered coat is really the best new look fo this season and it will carry over into spring. I you are going to wear black, this could be chic.

Dear David,
What do you think of suddenly the platform is out and the lower heel and simpler shoe is in?
~F. Tish

Dear Ms. Tish,
That cumbersome shoe always worried me. Simpler shoes mean women need to be less cared for. They want to be more on their own, not hobbling about in clumsy shoes. I am all for it! This is the women's century. They have to get ready to take over.

Handsomest Man in the World ~ Guess Cologne Ad Model

Our Handsomest Man in the World this week is the man in the latest Guess men's cologne ad. Very hot. Men are wearing their pants a lot lower than they used to when I was in advertising...

It's a younger version of Stephanie Seymour clinging to him. I remember when Stephanie Seymour was a 14 year old just beginning to model. It wasn't yesterday, my angels.

Dear David,
I just saw some publicity about your new book. When is that coming out? You are relentless.
~Readin' Fool

Dear Readin' Fool,
It's true! I have a new novel "The Beauty of Men Never Dies" being published by Wisconsin University in June. I think you'll like it ~ it's about being gay over 70. There are no good role models for us when we are gay and getting mature. My role model has always been Coco Chanel. She made her comeback at 70 after World War II.

I have another book for the Fall tentatively called "100 Things You Need to Know in the 21st Century." If the title changes, I will let you know the new title when I find out. Here is a sneak peek of one of the things you need to know:  "Always leave the room as though you are going somewhere more interesting."

And to fatigue you even more, I have just finished my advertising memoirs called "We Offered Them Caviar...". I was in the advertising world as the show "Mad Men", but my experience was quite different. I worked for Grey Advertising and my main client was Revlon, who were like monsters from Hollywood but great. It was wild. I used to come back from the client and tell my staff " We offered them caviar but they wanted peanut butter, so we'll give them peanut butter!" Hence the title. Stay tuned!

Everyone on stage is for $ale ~ Rent Boy The Musical

Dear David DeLuxe,
What about this show you're in? Tell us more!
~Show Buzz

Dear Buzz,
I thought you'd never ask. It's a small off-Broadway musical. Cast of six, lots of fun songs and kind of naughty...but you can bring your mother. Also, some close-to-nudity which I like better than full nudity.

We're doing a two week Backer's Showcase at the Richmond Shepard Theater. From there we hope to go out to stock for a month in the summer and come back in the Fall in a full-Equity production. Off Broadway but up for a long term run. I think we'll do it. Little shows like this that are fun and very unusual can run for a very long time. That way everyone can see it when they visit New York. We have a GREAT cast. Try to come! www.rentboythemusical.com

Why do I get blamed for everything...

Dear David,
I am with a man whom I love a lot but he has the unfortunate inability to ever accept blame for anything. If something goes wrong it is always my fault. I don't really mind sometimes, but it's starting to make me think less of him.
~Blame Target

Dear Blame Target,
I know this routine well. My great love has a tendency to do this. My trick is to anticipate the blame and claim it before he can say anything. Then it is clearly ridiculous...

Him: "I forgot my keys this morning..."

Me: " Oh, I knew there was something I was supposed to do. I should have reminded you. It's my fault."

If you do this regularly, it becomes a joke between you that everything is your fault. Then the problem goes away. It works for me!

Fashion News! Curly hair, florals and lace dresses

Fashion News!

Someone to keep an eye on is the actress Greta Gerwig. Bruce Weber did some great pictures of her in Vanity Fair for their Hollywood issue. She seems to have that old-fashioned Hollywood star feeling that I don't really see in anyone else.

Fashion for men:

1. Eddie Redmayne, the English actor, was in a dark blue velvet suit at an event. I thought he looked great. I used to have a dark green one like that.

2. Curly Hair. It's pretty girly but luckily girls aren't wearing their hair like this. If your hair is wavy please grow it out and look very romantic. The dark glasses are optional.

3. This dark suit with the floral shirt and tie is the only time that I thought the floral shirt and tie works. All this big, bold splashy color can make you look like some old fart in Palm Beach. Be careful!

Girls: This lace dress from Loie is great. I've never heard og Joie is but this dress can be a stopper and still let you be yourself...and not the person who wore the dress while the gown got all the attention. I promise you, men love this kind of dress.

Handsomest Man in the World ~ Alexander Skarsgard

Handsomest Man in the World this week has to be Alexander Skarsgard. He's getting alot of attention right now but it's interesting the difference between his TV image and how he appears in photographs. He has this vunerable thing going on in photographs that quite belies his very sexy TV presence. Interesting.

/////////////////////////////////

Dear David,
I am seeing two different men in two different cities, one of them actually out of the country. Just recently I have begun to feel I really shouldn't be there in bed with him but should be there with the other guy. This is a new feeling for me. Que pasa?
~Ina quandary

Dear Ina,
I don't think you're a girl Ina, but this would be my advice in any case. You are beginning to have an intimate relationship with the other guy. It is time to stop sleeping with number two. In fact, it is time to concentrate on number one and see how he is feeling. Probably very much the same way...

I am toying with the idea of having a facelift...

Dear Davidina,
I am toying with the idea of having a facelift. I am in my mid-sixties. I am getting jowls and my eyes are sagging - although I am quite fit and not overweight. Advice?
~Facin' the Music

Dear Facin' the Music,
Do it! You will feel much better looking in the mirror and liking what you see. The sagging neck and jowls really can go easily and eyes can be well done, too.You want age appropriate work. You're not trying to look younger, just better. Go to a doctor whose work you've seen on other people and liked. Do not and I repeat DO NOT try to get a bargain. Spend the money darling!

Rent Boy the Musical!

Just a note to remind you that I'm going to be in New York from Thursday, March 21 through Sunday March 31 at the Richmond Shepard Theater. Rent Boy the Musical! is the show. I do a fan dance. If you can, you must come and then speak to me afterwards. You can check it out here: www.rentboythemusical.com

________________________________________

Dear David,
I have been seeing this guy - very, very romantic even but he has made it very clear that he likes me a lot but doesn't want to have any kind of commitment. I find myself really falling for him. I try to think of us "f#%k buddies" but it isn't going very well.
~Love Struck

Dear Love Struck,
I think you really want to be in love and have a relationship. The one piece of advice I can give is to never have a relationship thinking the other person will change. The won't. You have to decide how much time you want to spend dallying around with this man. I do not think he will ever just be your lover....you must decide.

Hello my darlings! Welcome to the 70th episode of "Come On Out! with David Leddick"! Today I am talking more about about my new musical that I'm taking to New York, "Rent Boy the Musical" debuting in March. The cast is amazing, hear all about them!
